Painted during the Eureka Springs Plein Air Festival, this piece captures a layered Ozark landscape partially hidden behind tangled vines and dense summer growth. The overlook opened up to soft rolling hills and pale water below, but the foreground brush became just as interesting as the distant view.

Painted outdoors from observation, the composition leans into the feeling of discovering a landscape through overgrown edges rather than presenting a perfectly open vista. The loose brushwork and muted greens create a quiet, atmospheric study of depth, distance, and place.
