Painted en plein air, this piece captures the bold geometry of a rusted steel bridge cutting across a quiet, overgrown stretch of landscape. The structure dominates the scene with its repeating angles and warm, weathered tones, while the surrounding greenery softens its edges—nature slowly reclaiming space around something built to last.

Working on site, I focused on the contrast between the rigid, industrial lines of the bridge and the loose, organic movement of the foliage below. Light filters through the open trusses, breaking the form into rhythm and pattern rather than a single solid mass.

It’s a study in structure and atmosphere—where steel meets summer growth, and the built environment settles into the landscape over time.
