Painted during a day trip to Death Valley National Park while I was in residence at Desert National Wildlife Refuge, this piece captures the rare and fleeting phenomenon of a desert superbloom. What is typically a vast, quiet expanse briefly shifts—soft color, distant haze, and subtle life stretching across the valley floor.
