Painted outdoors in Waxahachie, this study captures an abandoned rail cart slowly disappearing back into the landscape. Rusted metal, worn paint, and overgrown grass create the feeling of something once useful now left behind to weather quietly beside the tracks.

The soft greens surrounding the railcar contrast with the warm reds and browns of the metal, giving the piece a quiet, nostalgic atmosphere. Painted from observation on location during a plein air outing in historic Waxahachie.
