Painted during my artist residency at Valles Caldera National Preserve, this landscape captures the wide grasslands and dramatic skies that constantly shifted throughout the day. Sunlit golden hills sit beneath heavy clouds gathering over the caldera, creating the kind of quiet tension that makes you stop painting every few minutes just to watch the weather change again.
